Garry Nolan

Also known as Garry P. Nolan, Nolan

Garry Nolan is a professor of pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine, an immunologist and inventor known for pioneering single-cell analysis. He is the most prominent mainstream laboratory scientist to work openly on UAP, and he insists on talking about data rather than conclusions, a rule he credits to Jacques Vallée.

He was drawn in when government contacts asked him to profile the blood of about a hundred injured diplomats and military personnel. Many turned out to be early Havana syndrome cases, but a few said their injuries came from proximity to UAP, and their brain scans showed white-matter scarring. Studying experiencers and their families, he found unusual connectivity in the caudate and putamen. He also took apart claims on both sides. His team sequenced the Atacama skeleton that Steven Greer had promoted as possibly alien and showed it was human. He has run isotope analyses of alleged UFO metals, finding one sample anomalous and others ordinary, and calls none of it proof.

Luis Elizondo and Chris Mellon showed him the Navy videos shortly before the December 2017 New York Times story. He later joined Avi Loeb's Galileo Project and co-founded the Sol Foundation at Stanford in 2023 to bring academic study to the subject. He sits on the UAP Science Advisory Council. He says he has seen no non-human hardware himself but believes the people who say it exists, and he doubts Bob Lazar's account. He appears in The Program (2024) and The Age of Disclosure (2025). On the 2026 PURSUE files, he said the releases were "evidence", but "not proof yet".
