Person
Larry Lemke
Also known as Lemke
- Former NASA aerospace engineer (propulsion, planetary missions); Stanford graduate work in aerospace engineering
Larry Lemke is a retired NASA aerospace engineer with a background in psychology, physics and aerospace engineering, the last from graduate work at Stanford, and experience in propulsion and missions to other planets, including Venus. A member of the "invisible college" around Jacques Vallée, he joined Vallée and the Stanford immunologist Garry Nolan after retiring in analysing alleged UAP materials, where he says his role is reverse engineering, including identifying samples that turn out to be mundane aerospace parts.
He has described a long UAP sighting in the California desert in 1989 that moved him to work on the subject. At the first Sol Forum in March 2025 he said his father, who worked at the Berkeley Radiation Laboratory in 1955–65, had told him he worked on material from a craft that crashed in New Mexico, an account he says he tried to cross-check and, to some extent, did.
