Concept
Remote viewing & telepathy
Also known as remote viewing, telepathy, telepathic, psychic
Remote viewing is the claimed ability to describe distant or hidden places, objects or events using the mind alone. From 1972 the U.S. government funded research into it, first at SRI International under Harold Puthoff and Russell Targ and later in the Army and DIA programmes known collectively as Stargate, until a 1995 review found the results too vague to be useful.
Some UAP figures, including Puthoff and the remote viewer Ingo Swann, link this work to the study of consciousness and non-human intelligence; it is included here for that context.
