Glimpses
UFOs appear everywhere… yet they are elusive, fleeting, phantom-like… enough at least to try to employ psychics to help you out.
Penetration (1998) is a memoir by Ingo Swann, the artist and psychic at the centre of the remote-viewing research at the Stanford Research Institute that grew into the Stargate programme. In it he says that in the mid-1970s a secretive government figure he calls "Mr. Axelrod" recruited him to remote-view the far side of the Moon, where he says he saw structures and beings, and that he later saw a humanoid extraterrestrial in a Los Angeles supermarket.
None of this has any corroboration; "Axelrod" has never been identified, and the book is Swann's personal account. It is filed because of Swann's documented role in the government-funded remote-viewing work, which a 1995 CIA-commissioned review concluded had never produced useful intelligence.
