Robert M. Wood

Also known as Robert Wood, Bob Wood, Dr. Wood

Robert M. Wood is an American aerospace engineer with a degree in aeronautical engineering from the University of Colorado and a PhD in physics from Cornell, who worked for 43 years at Douglas Aircraft and McDonnell Douglas, managing research and development projects, radar work and studies for the space station. In the late 1960s he ran a small company project on how UFOs might be propelled, which hired Stanton Friedman, and he later managed a remote-viewing study funded by the company's founder, James S. McDonnell.

After retiring in 1993 he turned to authenticating leaked UFO documents with his son Ryan, author of Majic Eyes Only; they publish the "Majestic Documents", including the 1954 SOM 1-01 manual, which they argue are genuine. Critics regard these papers as hoaxes, citing weak provenance and links to known hoaxers. He testified at the 2013 Citizen Hearing on the documents and on the McDonnell Douglas study. His engineering career is real; his document conclusions are disputed.
