Daniel Sheehan is an American constitutional and public-interest lawyer, a Harvard Law graduate (1970) who worked on the Pentagon Papers case for The New York Times and on the Watergate, Karen Silkwood and Greensboro massacre cases. He founded the Christic Institute, whose 1986 conspiracy suit over the La Penca bombing in Nicaragua was dismissed in 1988, with the institute fined for bringing a frivolous suit, and later the Romero Institute.

On UFOs he has been counsel to the psychiatrist John Mack and to Steven Greer's Disclosure Project, and general counsel to the 2013 Citizen Hearing. He says that in the late 1970s, as special counsel to a Congressional Research Service inquiry prompted by President Carter, he was shown classified Blue Book microfilm with photographs of a crashed saucer, and traced the symbols on it. No record of that viewing has been released; it is his testimony.
