Ubirajara Franco Rodrigues is a lawyer and lecturer from Varginha who investigated the case from its first days, recording the three women's first video testimony three days after the sighting, and earlier the 1979 Baependi case. The Army's inquiry heard him as a collaborator of Vitório Pacaccini. By 2026 he had distanced himself from most of the story, keeping only the women's account as authentic.
