Person
Haim Eshed
Also known as Eshed, Professor Eshed, Haim Eshed
- Brigadier General (res.), Israeli Military Intelligence Directorate (Unit 81)
- Director of space programs, Israel Ministry of Defense (nearly 30 years, retired 2011)
- Visiting professor of aeronautics and astronautics; doctorate in aeronautical engineering
Considered a founding figure of Israel's military space program, which he directed at the Ministry of Defense for almost three decades. In December 2020, aged 87 and promoting a book of conversations with him, he made sweeping claims about contact between governments and a “Galactic Federation”. His credentials make him an official source; his claims remain unsupported by any evidence he has presented, and Israel's Space Agency chairman publicly rejected them.
