Avi Loeb wants sensors at the PURSUE sites where the triangle and the orbs were reported
interview · Avi Loeb on Medium, and NewsNation's The Hill (Blake Burman) · Original source
On the day PURSUE release 07 came out, Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb, who chairs the UAP Science Advisory Council, said the released reports, with no measured speeds or raw sensor recordings, cannot settle what the western U.S. triangle or the orbs are, and proposed placing better sensors at the sites PURSUE reports, in partnership with the Pentagon. It is a proposal; neither the Department of War nor AARO has announced any such deployment.
Facts and claims
- claimed Writing on the day of release 07, Loeb says his strategic goal as chair of the UAP Science Advisory Council “is to deploy new and better sensors in sites where the triangular UAP or mysterious orbs were reported by PURSUE.” — Avi Loeb Source: avi-loeb.medium.com (archived)
- claimed He notes that the AARO memorandum “does not include a measured speed or raw sensor recordings”, and that the observations “do not establish the nature of the UAP.” — Avi Loeb Source: avi-loeb.medium.com (archived)
- claimed On NewsNation the same day he said the government's data is insufficient (“It’s not good enough”) and that his hope is “to partner with the Pentagon and put better sensors at the locations where these objects are found.” — Avi Loeb Source: Avi Loeb on NewsNation's The Hill: the PURSUE triangle, and sensors at the sites (23 October 2026) at 1:47
Key moments: Avi Loeb on NewsNation's The Hill: the PURSUE triangle, and sensors at the sites (23 October 2026)
- 1:07 Blake Burman, in Washington on the day of PURSUE release 07: “Let's go back to those flying triangles. What's your theory?”
- 1:11 Avi Loeb: Loeb: “we don't know what they are.” Two types of objects “are being spotted by the Pentagon, the intelligence community, and they are hovering over strategic assets.” (In his own transcript he names them: orbs and triangles.)
- 1:21 Avi Loeb: “If you have a down-to-earth approach, you would say they are coming from adversarial nations, because it's not our government that is flying them.” He cites the Chinese balloon shot down in 2023: finding one ant means there are more under the sink.
- 1:40 Avi Loeb: On the PURSUE files: “we won't be able to, given the data that we're given in these tranches, it's not good enough.”
- 1:47 Avi Loeb: “My hope is to partner with the Pentagon and put better sensors at the locations where these objects are found.”
- 2:07 Avi Loeb: On reports that alien craft are “being held by corporations like Lockheed Martin”: “I haven't seen any evidence for that, and the people I speak with have not seen any evidence for that.”
- 2:24 Avi Loeb: “If it exists, my plea to whoever owns them is, please take me to the nearest alien spacecraft”; studying the objects is “a win-win proposition”, for national security or for science.
- 3:59 Avi Loeb: Asked whether it is a U.S. test, an adversary or something else: “my recommendation is to put sensors in those locations, get better data, and figure it out like a detective story.”
- 4:52 Avi Loeb: On the 2002 Roswell affidavit in the release: there are always black projects; when the B-2 bombers were tested, “a lot of people thought that they are UFOs”.
- 6:01 Avi Loeb: Will the government ever give a yes or no? “I hope so within a year or two.”
