Langley Air Force Base
Also known as Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Langley AFB, JBLE
Joint Base Langley-Eustis in Hampton, Virginia, home of the Air Force's F-22 fighters and next to NASA's Langley Research Center, has been the scene of two widely cited events. In 2012 Air Force airman Dylan Borland says he watched a huge silent triangle lift off near the NASA hangar; he testified about it under oath in 2025. In December 2023 drones entered the base's restricted airspace night after night, which senior commanders confirmed to Congress without identifying them.
Members of Congress, including Glenn Grothman and Nancy Mace, have pressed for answers on both. Others, such as former Senate staffer Kirk McConnell, think triangles seen near such bases are probably classified U.S. aircraft.
