On 9 June 2026, members of the House Oversight task force on declassification, led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, held a press conference outside the U.S. Capitol with David Grusch, Leslie Kean and James Fox. They called on President Trump to waive non-disclosure agreements, grant immunity to whistleblowers and release UAP records, including on Brazil's 1996 Varginha case and on recovered "non-human biologics". Kirk McConnell was present but did not speak.

It was a press event, not a hearing: nothing said was under oath, and no records were presented. The speakers' claims about crash retrieval, biological material and hidden funding remain claims.
