FY2024 NDAA UAP records provisions
The National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2024, signed into law in December 2023, included sections 1841–1843 requiring federal agencies to identify their records on unidentified anomalous phenomena and transfer them to a new UAP Records Collection at the National Archives, with a presumption that they be disclosed.
The provisions were a scaled-back version of the UAP Disclosure Act proposed by Senators Chuck Schumer and Mike Rounds: the final law dropped its independent review board and its eminent-domain power over recovered materials. The collection is held by the National Archives as Record Group 615.
