Glimpses
It was as if light itself had been confiscated.
UFO Chronicles of the Soviet Union (Ballantine, 1992) reports Jacques Vallée's visit to the Soviet Union in 1990, as glasnost opened the subject there. He met Soviet scientists and investigators, collected cases that had circulated privately (the "samizdat" of the title), and visited sites of reported landings. It is an early Western record of Soviet UFO research as the state was collapsing; its cases are witness accounts gathered on the trip, not official Soviet findings.
