Glimpses
Late in the evening I noticed the usual forest sounds of crickets and tree frogs had stopped. It was dead silent.
There on the horizon sat a perfect tight triangle of three very bright stars.
Sometimes a bad dream isn't just a bad dream.
Incident at Devils Den (2018) is the self-published memoir of Terry Lovelace, a former U.S. Air Force medic at Whiteman Air Force Base, Missouri, and later an attorney. He describes a silent triangular craft over a nuclear missile silo at Whiteman in 1975, and a night in 1977 when, camping at Devil's Den State Park in Arkansas with a fellow airman, he says they watched a huge triangular object, lost time, and were later debriefed by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations. He also says a 2012 X-ray showed a small object in his thigh that later vanished.
Lovelace has since been widely interviewed. His accounts rest on his memory; no official record of the events or of the debriefing has been found.
