Unidentified (New Page Books, 2014) widens Robert Salas's Malmstrom story into a case against the official line. Its target is the Air Force's 1969 statement, made as Project Blue Book closed, that no UFO it had investigated had ever posed a threat to national security. Against it the book sets the testimony of former missile officers and other military witnesses about UFOs over nuclear weapons sites, some published for the first time, with Salas's own account of the March 1967 shutdown at Malmstrom's Oscar Flight at its centre.

The book is testimony and argument, not an official finding. The Air Force records on the Malmstrom shutdowns describe Echo Flight and do not mention Oscar, and in 2025 the Wall Street Journal reported AARO's explanation of the shutdowns as a secret EMP test. An updated edition appeared in 2023 as UAPs and the Nuclear Puzzle.
