Yoshio Tsukuda
Also known as Yoshio Tsukuba, Tsukuba, Tsukuda, Flight Engineer Tsukuba
- Flight Engineer, Japan Air Lines (Boeing 747), 1986
Yoshio Tsukuda (spelled Tsukuba in the FAA's interview record) was the flight engineer of Japan Air Lines cargo flight 1628, which reported unidentified lights pacing it over eastern Alaska on 17 November 1986.
Interviewed by the FAA on 15 January 1987, through an interpreter, he described a cluster of undulating white or amber lights ahead of the aircraft for about ten minutes, which he was sure were not town lights, and a second, vague light to the left that he could not tell from a distant town; he said he was not sure the object was a UFO, and that his mind had not changed.
