FAA record of interview with JAL Flight Engineer Yoshio Tsukuba (JAL 1628)

The FAA's record of its interview, on 15 January 1987, with Yoshio Tsukuba (spelled Tsukuda elsewhere in the FAA's papers), the flight engineer of Japan Air Lines flight 1628. He asked to speak in Japanese, and the record is the interpreter's translation, with a page of his drawing.

Tsukuba describes two different sets of lights: a cluster of white or amber lights ahead at 11 o'clock for about ten minutes, which he is sure were not town lights, and a vague light at 9 o'clock that he could not tell from a distant town. It is part of the FAA's investigation file, now in the National Archives (record 733667) and released by The Black Vault.
