Steven Schiff

Steven Schiff was a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives for New Mexico's 1st district from 1989 until his death in 1998. A former Bernalillo County district attorney, he pressed government agencies for information about UFOs.
His request led to the General Accounting Office's 1995 report on the government's records about the 1947 Roswell crash, which found two contemporary records and learned that Roswell Army Air Field's administrative records and outgoing messages for the period had been destroyed without recorded authority.
