Ricardo Bermúdez
Also known as Ricardo Bermudez, General Bermúdez, Bermúdez
- General (ret.); director of CEFAA, Chile's official committee for anomalous aerial phenomena, from 1997 to 2016
Ricardo Bermúdez is a retired Chilean general who directed CEFAA, the committee within Chile's civil aviation authority (DGAC) that studies anomalous aerial phenomena, from its creation in 1997 until he retired on 1 January 2017, after which he remained an adviser to it.
He led CEFAA's two-year study of the 2014 Chilean Navy helicopter video, interviewing the two officers who filmed it. The committee concluded the object was unidentified, despite a French analysis it had commissioned that proposed an airliner; Bermúdez summed up: "We do not know what it was, but we do know what it was not."
