Hideichi Amano was a snack-bar owner and ham-radio operator from Sayama, Japan, who said that on 3 October 1978, while parked on a hill above the city with his two-year-old daughter, a bright light filled his car, the engine and headlights failed, and a small humanoid figure appeared beside him for several minutes.
