FBI declines to say why agents who saw the western U.S. triangle were deployed: "We have nothing additional to add"
article · Liberation Times (Christopher Sharp) · Original source
Liberation Times put questions to the FBI about the 2026 triangle sighting by federal agents at a sensitive site in the western United States, released in PURSUE release 07 as an AARO memorandum and an FBI interview report. The Bureau would not say why the agents were posted there with thermal equipment, whether the object was identified, whether the case is still open or whether any imagery exists, and referred only to the released documents. The answer adds no new facts about the object; it leaves open the questions the two records do not settle.
Facts and claims
- claimed Asked by Liberation Times why Special Agents were deployed with optical and thermal surveillance equipment, whether the object had been identified, whether the incident remained under investigation and whether photographic, video or thermal evidence had been obtained, the FBI National Press Office replied: “We have nothing additional to add to the documents.” Source: liberationtimes.com (archived)
- claimed Liberation Times notes that AARO describes the agents' assignment only as “routine observation support”, and that the released records do not establish whether the deployment concerned suspected criminal activity or involved the Special Investigations Group, an FBI unit Rep. Anna Paulina Luna has discussed. Source: liberationtimes.com (archived)
