Dimensions: A Casebook of Alien Contact
Also known as Dimensions (Vallée)
Jacques Vallée · Ballantine paperback with a foreword by Whitley Strieber · Contemporary Books (Chicago) · 304 pages
Dimensions (Contemporary Books, 1988) opens Jacques Vallée's trilogy on alien contact. It returns to the themes of Passport to Magonia with new cases, setting modern encounters beside folklore and religious visions, and argues that the phenomenon may come from dimensions beyond ordinary space-time rather than from other planets. It also recounts his conversations with Steven Spielberg, whose character Lacombe in Close Encounters of the Third Kind was modelled on him. It was followed by Confrontations (1990) and Revelations (1991).
