Person
Riccardo Marano
Also known as Marano
- Professional pilot; flew his own Piper (1973)
Riccardo Marano was a Turin pilot, described by La Stampa in December 1973 as 28 years old, a professional pilot for five years who worked for a company and owned his own Piper aircraft.
On the evening of 30 November 1973, returning from Genoa, he was guided by the Caselle control tower towards an unidentified radar target over the approach path, and said he chased a brilliant, colour-changing globe as far as Voghera. The Italian Air Force archive lists the civilian pilot of a private aircraft among those who reported the event, without naming him.
