AARO case slides for the Senate Armed Services subcommittee (19 November 2024)
Also known as Kosloski SASC slides, AARO open hearing case slides
The slides AARO director Jon Kosloski used at the open Senate Armed Services subcommittee hearing of 19 November 2024: reporting trends and resolution outcomes since 1996, and three resolved cases, the 2013 Puerto Rico (Aguadilla) object, the Navy's GoFast video and the 2018 Mount Etna video. They are the written basis for what he said at the hearing, including the Etna distance he spoke of as 170 metres but which the slide gives as 170 kilometres.

Facts and claims
- documented AARO's chart of closed cases from January 1996 to 10 October 2024 gives the resolutions as balloons 75 percent, UAS 16 percent, birds 6 percent, aircraft 1 percent and satellites 1 percent; orb, round or sphere was the most reported shape (31 percent). - documented On the 2013 Puerto Rico object, AARO and its partners “assess with high confidence that the UAP did not demonstrate any anomalous speeds or flight characteristics”: two objects, not one splitting in two, which “traveled at wind speed in a straight line over land during the entire observation period, never entering the water”; the high speed was motion parallax. - documented On GoFast the slide gives the object's altitude “with high confidence as approximately 13,000 feet above sea level at a calculated velocity of approximately 45 mph / 39 knots”, with winds of about 60 knots at that height, and notes that “High confidence analysis of the UAP's exact position was not possible given a lack of precise positional data from the observing Navy aircraft.” Source: doc-aaro-case-slides-2024-11-19.pdf
- documented On the 2018 Mount Etna video AARO assesses “with moderate confidence that the object was a balloon drifting with the wind approximately 170 kilometers from the volcano”, and says it “disproved the object flew through the ash plume” by analysing the luminosity of its pixels.
