CIA-UAP-014 — British activity in the Field of "Unidentified Flying Objects"

Official PURSUE description (Department of War / AARO, release 03):

A December 1952 Memo on the activities the British are taking to identify UFOs. The memo references a UFO sighting at an RAF field seen by high officials and RAF pilots. A more redacted version of the memo has been available on CIA's public website.

Note. The memo is dated 18 December 1952 and dates the "Yorkshire incident" at an RAF field to about ten to twelve days before a briefing on 15 December, i.e. early December 1952. That does not match the RAF Topcliffe sighting during Exercise Mainbrace (19 September 1952), so this record is not linked to the Exercise Mainbrace entry. It also mentions the Tremonton film and R. V. Jones's reference to the 1946 Swedish ghost rockets.
