Photographic Analysis of the Calvine UFO Photograph (Sheffield Hallam University, 2024)

Also known as Robinson Calvine analysis

A 36-page technical study of the only surviving Calvine print by Andrew Robinson, senior lecturer in photography at Sheffield Hallam University (version 5, June 2024). It examines the paper, film type (a black-and-white print most likely made from a Daily Record copy negative on Ilford XP-1), grain, the object, the jet and the landscape, matches the print to the MoD's 1990 photocopies, and reconstructs the timeline from the sighting on 4 August 1990 to the negatives reaching the MoD on 10 September.

Robinson finds the print genuine and unmanipulated after exposure, suggests An Teampan on Struan Point south of Calvine as a possible location, and leaves open what the object was — including whether something was staged in front of the camera.
